A Plan for Each Patient

The digital model is used to create a step-by-step plan for treatment. The length of treatment varies from about six months to one year for most patients. A series of trays are made to slowly move teeth into their final position. Trays are made of smooth, BPA free plastic for patient comfort. The nearly invisible trays are swapped out every two weeks.

Oral hygiene is much easier with Invisalign than with traditional braces because the trays are removed for eating, brushing, and flossing. There are no wires or brackets to trap food particles. The staining that often accompanies traditional braces is avoided by brushing teeth and trays at least twice a day. Invisalign trays should be worn a minimum of 20 hours a day.
